MAROU BAY Development Association (MBDA) of West Makira has pledged their full support for the Anti-Corruption Bill, one of the bills currently before parliament.
The Chairman of MBDA, Chief John Usaha’asua said that history is being set for Solomon Islands in having this Bill put forward for the restoration of this nation.
“I on behalf of Marou Bay Development Association (MBDA) and Chiefs of west Makira I appeal to the forty nine parliamentary members who represented this country, to support the Anti-Corruption Bill.” he said.
“Leaders of this nation have to support the Anti-Corruption bill. We layman of this nation we totally supported this bill, because we believe very much that this the high time to restore this nation.”
“I call upon all the ministers, back benchers, Independent group and Opposition group to stand up on their feet to support the Anti-Corruption Bill on Friday.”
“Being the interim chairman of Marou bay development Association (MBDA) I pledge my support for the anti-corruption bill because we the rural dwellers become the victims of corruption which happens in this country for so long now,” he said.
He said that Solomon Islands has been known for accommodating corrupt practices and the bill will help to sort out corruption within the country.
“I will be so surprise if any member of the parliament that he or she will not support this Anti-Corruption Bill,” he added.
