THE SIXTH Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) the Most Reverend George Takeli will make his first visit to Selwyn College this weekend.
Selwyn College situated in West Guadalcanal is the premier secondary school of ACOM and will be celebrating its annual Transfiguration Day starting tomorrow afternoon.
This will be Archbishop Takeli’s first official visit to Selwyn College after he was consecrated in April this year at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral in Honiara.
Reports from Selwyn College said preparations are now in full swing for Archbishop Takeli’s first official visit and as chief celebrant during the Transfiguration Day on Sunday.
An evensong would be held tomorrow afternoon before the main church service on Sunday.
Selwyn College students are preparing toward the day with feasting to be held at the beachfront after the main service on Sunday.
Parents, guardians and former students are all welcome to attend the celebration on Sunday.
