21 graduate from APTC

TWENTY-ONE Early Childhood Education (ECE) students of the Australian Pacific Technical College (APTC) graduated yesterday, at the Mala Motel, in Auki, Malaita province.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, APTC Country Manager Solomon Islands, Ms Pamela Morgan, said: “today is your day, you have demonstrated courage hard work and dedication to your learning.

“As a result you have been awarded an Australian vocational qualification that is recognised nationally and internationally.

“You have made sacrifices to undertake your studies at the APTC.

“We know that for many you needed to leave your place of work, your family and community for a period of time in order to undertake your studies.”

She also extended the institution’s acknowledgement to the employers and families of the graduates, who have shown support during their course period.

To the graduates she added, “We encourage you to be an active members of your APTC Alumni Chapter and that you promote the APTC with pride.”

Acting Premier of Malaita province, Hon Joe Heroau, in congratulating the graduates, conveyed the province’s congratulation for the added milestone and great opportunity in their careers.

“I urge you fellow graduates to be somebody in your careers as teachers.”

He also thanked the APTC for financing these ECE trainings in Malaita province.
