POB and Bmobile-Vodafone agree to empower the nation

PAN OCEANIC Bank once again signed Air-time topup agreement with Solomon Islands other major Network provider – Bmobile-Vodafone, enabling both POB and Bmobile-Vodafone customers to topup through their smartphones or computers via POB Online Banking.

“We are happy to be part of POB’s initiative to enhance the Online Banking experience in the Solomon Islands through our Network.

“We have confidence that our ever growing network of towers, range of advanced data services and recent IP hardware upgrades will support the initiative to bring financial services to our customers.

“We congratulate POB for enhancing the Airtime Topup facility through their Mobile Banking App. I feel this initiative is a partnership with both companies using their skillsets for the benefits of their customers.

“These types of symbiotic relationships in getting new services into the market is the best path forward for private companies as it reduces costs which can be passed on to their customer base,” said Niall Downey, CEO, Bmobile-Vodafone.

Furthermore, this new platform allows Utility Service Providers, Retail and Wholesale Businesses to get payments from customers on the spot, into their accounts through the POB Bill Pay method using their Data.

This also does away with the need for EFTPOS machines and reduces the ‘waiting for credit payments and reconciling periods’ for the businesses.

“We are pleased to partner with Bmobile Vodafone to provide a state-of-the-art banking service to the nation. POB Online Banking is safe, secure and easy to use. It has been especially developed with the needs of the people in mind and we are glad that Bmobile has come on board to bring this service to our customers and in the long run, empower the nation together,” said Mr Nihal Kekulawala, CEO of Pan Oceanic Bank.

POB Teams will be working in partnership with Bmobile-Vodafone road show teams in June to answer queries related to POB Online Banking and other Bank Services.

The General Public is welcome to visit the POB and Bmobile-Vodafone Teams at the Central Market, Beside Melanesian Press and Chinatown in Honiara.
