THE MEDIA Association of Solomon Islands (MASI) will mark world Media Freedom Day at the Honiara Hotel on Thursday May 26.
This was announced by the MASI President Leni Dalavera on MASI Facebook forum yesterday.
He said this event is for the Media Organisation in the country to celebrate the fundamental principles of media freedom, evaluate media freedom, defend the media from attacks on its independence and pay tribute to colleagues overseas who lost their lives in the exercise of their profession.
Dalavera also adds that the event was set most especially for all hard working MASI members to de-stress or offload, relax and catchup.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogovare is the Chief Guest for this Media Freedom Day which is set aside for this coming Thursday.
