ACTING CHIEF magistrate Sheppard Lapo has called on defence counsels Michael Holara and David Lidimani to appear in court today.
This is for the two counsels to confirm whether they are still representing the concerned accused of the alleged murder incident in Malaita at the Bemobile tower or have already withdrawn.
Prosecution told the court yesterday that the matter has already set for July 18 for the Long Form Preliminary Inquiry, and other counsels apart from Holara and Lidimani have already confirmed their availability for that date.
The court then asked the defendants whether those two concerned counsels ever visited them in custody, to which they replied no.
The accused, who claimed to be represented by Lidimani, told court that Lidimani represented him because he paid Lidimani, but since a previous occasion to now, Lidimani has never appeared for him.
The court then made orders that Lidimani and Holara appear in court and assist the court about the two accused.
This is in relation to the murder incident at the Bemobile tower in Malaita where four accused were charged for that incident.
