TWO FORMER Solo icons have been selected into the Hall of Fame for Solomon Islands music industry in the Country this year.
This was revealed in an interview with the team leader for the Global Leadership Nexus- co-sponsor of the Solo Icon, Geoffrey Alacky, during the show on Sunday.
He confirms to Island Sun that the 2016 Hall of Fame is Mac-Pherson Baea, the 2006 Icon and Melody Fefera Solo Icon winner for 2015, who also sits as judge on the current Solo Icon.
Mr Alacky stresses that the selection of the two was based on the continuation of their singing passion to motivate other young people in their community.
The selection committee sees their work has a positive output to youth, for example Melody, through her interests has becomes a Solo icon judge, Alacky adds.
Alacky says that with what they have done, it proves to them they doing great works for shaping young people which on one side met this year’s theme: Responsible Citizen.
He also adds that crowning Mac-Pherson Baea and Melody Fefera as hall of fame is unique for recognising their potential not only in music but their role model performance.
The official crown of the Hall of Fame is set aside sometimes this week in an exclusive dinner with very special high Guests to attend, Alacky said.
Solo Icon is an annual event organised to unfold the potential of young people who want to build their interest in music.
There are plans discussing the regional Icon which every pacific Island country picks out their best and complete for the Regional Icon, and Solomon Islands will be the host.
