FORMER STUDENTS of St Joseph’s Tenaru School, on 30 April, elected a new executive to lead their ex-student body Marist Old Students Association, MOSA for the next twelve months.

The new executive members are Celsus Talifilu as chairperson; Alice Willy, vice chairperson; Secretary, Julian Maka’a and Treasurer, Alice Pita Erehiru and members; Gideon Zoleveke Jr, Jim Manewai and Mark Savi, all of whom stood unopposed.

After the successful election, Anthony Makabo, General Manager of the National Provident Fund and senior member of the Association, who chaired the meeting, praised the members for agreeing to drive the aspirations of MOSA for the next 12 months.

Mr Makabo also called on members to support and work together with the new team to realise the goals and objectives of their association.

He also stressed that the first task of the new committee would be to establish a new Trust Account that would support the infrastructure needs of the school.

Speaking on behalf of the new executive, Chairman Celsus Talifilu thanked the members for their trust and confidence but called on their support to ensure his committee achieves the wishes of the members.

“We’re all in this together. Without your inputs my committee would not achieve anything tangible,” he said.

The new committee will be in office for one year.

The election of the new MOSA executive resulted after a Walk-Back to school at the end of last month, to allow members to mingle and elect the new executive.

The MOSA members who were part of the walk and election of the new committee included Parliamentarians, lawyers, general managers and more than two hundred ex-Tenaru students, family members and supporters.
