MINISTRY OF Education and Human Resource Development permanent secretary Dr Franco Rodie said education is the most influential force shaping the future of our nation.
“Our students are the future of this country and it is our responsibility to plan, develop and manage the direction education will take.
“Education is a complex process and requires stakeholders on all levels to work together and be committed in providing the best quality education for the benefit of all students.”
Rodie revealed that the Ministry of Education has commissioned the conference recognising the valuable contribution education authorities make to the nation’s education system.
“We hope that this conference will provide education authorities with the support they need in continuing to provide quality education to all students in all schools in the Solomon Islands.
“Over the last decade education in the country has made some significant progress as seen in improvement learning outcomes, increase enrolments and transition rates.”
He also added that “with the recent launching of the national education action plan in July and the close arrival of the provincial education action plan in the coming months, it is vital that we as education administrators are providers of, come together to reflect on our vision for the future development of education for our future.
“I believe this conference is an opportunity for us to share our successes, solve our issues and unify our ideas to strengthen our education authorities and develop the access, quality and management of education across all schools in the Solomon Islands.”
