A YOUNG female has set history after winning the University of the South Pacific Student Association of Solomon Islands (USPSA SI) Presidential post, last week.

She is Prettia Boso who was declared winner after a marathon ballot count on Friday afternoon at the USP SI Campus in Honiara.

Mrs Boso claimed the victory after succeeding over her three rivals namely, Brian Boso, Andrew Robynson Gegeu and Bobby Naphtalai with 164 votes.

Her win has set a history and will be inked down in the USPSA SI history book, since she was the first lady voted in to shoulder the presidential role at USPSA SI, after many years of male dominion over the post.

Meanwhile, the student body (USPSA SI) thanked the outgoing president, Nickson Banyo with his executive for their willpower, time and contribution towards the USPSA SI over the past year, while congratulating Mrs Boso and the new incoming executive well wishes in executing their duties and decision making as heads representing the student association.

USPSA SI has its 2016 election on Thursday 9 November to elect its new office bearers with its results declared on Friday 10.

A total of 404 votes have been casted on the Election Day.
