SIWIBA seeking nominations for the 2016 Solomon Islands Women in Business Awards.

THE SOLOMON Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) is currently conducting the third session on nomination awareness for its financial members.

This awareness programme is geared towards the upcoming 2016 Women in Business Awards that will take place on Saturday 9 July, 2016.

The event will see awardees in the categories of Woman in Business of the Year, Business Achiever, Innovation, Community Dedication, Rising Star, Outstanding Management and Leadership, SIWIBA Member of the Year.

SIWIBA members will also have the opportunity to be nominated for three Solomon Telekom Innovators Award.

This is part of the partnership established between SIWIBA and Solomon Telekom in their support towards the 2016 SIWIBA Women in Business Awards.

Supporting the SIWIBA Awards Committee is freelance business consultant, James Dolarii, who is in charge of nominations and the entire process with four high calibre judges who will be announced soon.

Mr Dolarii has had a wide experience and know-how in awards. He is one of the key person in the SICCI team, that hosted the past three Solomon Islands Business Excellence Awards from 2013 – 2015.

Mr Dolarii has accepted to help on voluntary basis as the neutral middle person in SIWIBA’s goal to ensure fairness and transparency in the awards process.

The deadline for nomination submission is Tuesday 28 June 2016. A copy of the nomination form can be obtained at the SIWIBA Secretariat, Room 47, NPF Plaza, Point Cruz.

SIWIBA announced its first ever Women in Business Awards for 2016 at a Gala Night Launch hosted on 3rd December 2015. This event is for SIWIBA financial members in recognition of their parity in business, training, activities and networking.

The much anticipated awards event will coincide with the one week SIWIBA Mini Trade Fair that will run from 4th – 8th July 2016 at the Art Gallery Grounds.

SIWIBA is a non-profit organisation comprising of informal and formal business women, dedicated to the empowerment of women economically.

SIWIBA wish to acknowledge all sponsors towards the awards and DFAT as its major sponsor with three years funding support towards programmes and activities.
