FIVE MINISTRIES from National Government has successfully completed the three-month course on Human Resource Management (HRM) at Kairos conference room, Hyundai mall yesterday.
The HRM course is facilitated by the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) under the Ministry of Public Service, a designed programme for Government Officers.
The outcome of the training course was remarkable as it produces productive human resource management best for improving workplace environments.
The Manager, Leadership Management and Development Unit, IPAM, Jennifer Mitini stresses the outcome of the course is important for developing human resource at workplace.
She said, during the programme, each participant Ministry came up with a project proposal addressing their workplace issues.
Mrs Mitini also adds the target areas focussed on were work and health safety, air conditioning hazard and health, staff appraisal and IPAM nomination process.
The lead facilitator for the HRM course, Steven S Amasia, uttered that the opportunities will enable officers for scholarships to undertake Diploma programmes at Divine Word University-PNG.
He said it will upgrade the skills of the participating ministries boosting their understanding in human resource management, which most lack.
The IPAM trainings usually happen once a year and the second group will attend the same trainings in Gizo, western province in July, he adds.
The ministries participating in this HRM course are; Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Ministry of Finance and Treasury, Ministry of Public Service and National Parliament.
The core aim is capacity building of Government’s Ministry officers with relevant knowledge and skills to perform at higher levels.
