POLICE AT Guadalcanal have arrested a murder suspect from Reef Island following the death of a teenage boy at GPPOL-2 area over the weekend.
Police alleged the incident, which occurred on the Saturday morning at about 7.20am, revealed the suspect and the deceased were drinking beer with friends at a location known as Kirakira Street.
It was during this drinking party that a fight broke out between the suspect and the boy which led to his death.
The deceased was assisted by locals in the area where he was brought to the GPPOL 2 clinic for medical treatment but he was later pronounced dead.
The matter was reported to Tetere Police, who later arrested the adult male suspect and is now in police custody on further investigations.
Police urges anyone relating to the deceased not to take the law into their own hands but allow Police to carry out its investigations.
Currently, a number of eye-witnesses have now been interviewed with their statements taken.
