MONITORED RELEASE of treated water from the Gold ridge Tailings Storage Facility is now the priority of Gold Ridge Mining limited (GRML) in an attempt to boost the confidence of investors as partners in redeveloping the defunct industry.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Chairman of the Gold ridge Land owners Council Walton Naezon said that dewatering is the number one priority of the company which is aimed at giving confidence to investors.
He also pointed out that it is the first achievement of the company with regards to the reopening of the mine.
“Once the dewatering is completed another task is to clean the mill and build the acom base, accommodation, office and recruiting of workers,” he said.
Naezon upholds that the group will set the agreement with shareholders in the next three weeks as well as informing the government about relevant developments in the mine site.
He said the company will also map out the timeframe regarding when when the actual production will begin as well as exploration activities and the future of the Tailings Storage Facility.
The chairman said that GRML, which has acquired a temporary licence this month to reduce depth of the pond to one metre, aims to drop it by six metres in the future.
He affirmed that ongoing dewatering depends on weekly assessments of the pond’s content.
